Study Permit & Visa Requirements
If you’re planning to study at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ for more than six months and you’re not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you’ll be required to apply for a study permit. As an international student, there are a few important documents you’ll need to study and work in Canada.

Be sure to prepare for your flights from your home country to Pearson International Airport as well as connecting flights or transportation to your campus. It is also important to understand weather and appropriate apparel for life in Canada. Please ensure your housing and accommodations are coordinated before your departure as well

Registration & Enrolment
New students will receive their Confirmation of Registration (COR) via email once registrations are being processed. You can reachÌýinternational@northern.on.ca for help if you have not received your COR more than one week after you uploaded your visa copy through the application portal.

Academic Integrity & Student Policies
The Student Handbook serves as a comprehensive guide to academic policies, student rights and responsibilities, fees and withdrawal procedures, and general campus resources. It covers topics such as academic integrity, grading systems, academic appeals, IT resource usage, BYOD policies, and regulations on alcohol, drugs, and smoking on campus. Additionally, it includes information on health and safety protocols, student records, and support services to ensure a productive and responsible student experience.
Ï㽶ÊÓƵ upholds academic integrity as a fundamental value, expecting students, faculty, and staff to commit to ethical academic conduct.

Tuition Payments & Financial Aid Office
Please refer to your offer letter and registration forms for payment deadlines and non-refundable deposit due dates to confirm your offer. Past-due fees must be paid before you can register for your program. The balance of semester fees must be paid prior toÌýDay 10Ìýof the semester.
Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards
Ï㽶ÊÓƵ has one of the highest number of scholarships, bursaries and awards per student in the province.
New international students from all over the world in select programs starting in eligible intakes at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ may be eligible to apply for an entrance scholarship valued at $2,000 CAD per recipient.

Graduation & Alumni
Ï㽶ÊÓƵ is committed to ensuring students experience a seamless graduation experience.
Graduation ceremonies are held in the spring after each academic year.
For those attending graduation ceremonies, graduation documents, like your diploma or certificate, are given during the event. Otherwise, they are mailed out within a week after the ceremony.
After you graduate, our Alumni Association is here to support you in your career and offers activities, events and other perks for alumni.

Pures College in Toronto, Canada
Ï㽶ÊÓƵ has established a collaboration with Pures College of Technology in order to provide high-quality education and exemplary services to overseas students in Toronto. Students enroled in Ï㽶ÊÓƵ programs at the Pures Toronto location receive full credit from Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, and are granted a Ï㽶ÊÓƵ diploma upon meeting their graduation requirements. Students taking a Ï㽶ÊÓƵ program at Pures have the opportunity to acquire a high-quality education and enhance their practical skills. Staff and faculty provide a welcoming environment for international students, offering excellent student services to ensure students have a great learning experience.

I came to Canada and to Ï㽶ÊÓƵ in January of 2018. Everything was new for me here, especially in Northern Ontario. I don’t know how to express how much Ï㽶ÊÓƵ and the Northern community has given to me. I’ve learned so much from my professors, Deans, my employers, and from everyone!
